What You'll Learn in One Day
A quick overview of who the workshop is for and how the day works (captioned).
Your Patient's Blood Holds the Growth Factors. Most Dentists Never Use Them.
Platelet-rich fibrin is prepared from a small sample of the patient's own blood, spun chairside with no additives. It's a safe, natural regenerative tool for sockets, grafts and soft tissue, and the only real barrier for most dentists is the blood draw. This workshop removes that barrier in one day.
The Biology, Made Practical
How PRF works in tissue regeneration and wound healing, and how it differs from other platelet concentrates.
Real Hands-On Venipuncture
Four hours drawing blood on arm models and with volunteers, then centrifuging and handling PRF, not just slides.
Chairside Protocols
Step-by-step PRF placement in socket preservation, sinus and bone grafting, periodontal defects and soft tissue procedures.

Dr. Omid Kiarash
Former Director of Periodontics at McGill University. Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Founder of Zeeba Advanced Dental Education and Immediate Past President of the Canadian Academy of Periodontology.

Dr. Sara Behmanesh
Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Former clinical instructor and course director in Periodontics at McGill University. Recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology Award for Excellence in Teaching.
You Know PRF Can Help. The Blood Draw Is What Holds You Back.
Most dentists have read about PRF and seen the results colleagues share. What stops them isn't the science. It's never having been trained to draw blood, and not knowing which protocol to use for which procedure. One focused day with two periodontists changes that.
If any of these hit home, this workshop is for you:
- You'd like to offer PRF, but you've never performed a venipuncture
- You aren't sure which preparation protocol fits which procedure
- You want your sockets, grafts and soft tissue to heal more predictably
- You want an evidence-based view of what PRF can and can't do
- You'd rather not depend on outside help to draw blood
- Patients ask you for natural, regenerative options
From “I've Never Drawn Blood” to “PRF Is Part of My Protocol.”
Before the Workshop
- Venipuncture feels like someone else's job
- PRF protocols are a confusing list of names and settings
- Grafts and sockets rely on materials alone
- No clear sense of the evidence or the limits
- No one to ask when a draw or a case doesn't go to plan
After the Workshop
- Hands-on experience drawing blood, start to finish
- A clear protocol for preparing, processing and handling PRF
- Step-by-step placement for your most common procedures
- Evidence-based judgment on when PRF adds value
- A year of WhatsApp access to two board-certified periodontists
Scientific & Clinical Curriculum
Three connected modules that take you from the biology of platelet-rich fibrin to placing it in your own procedures.
Introduction to PRF in Dentistry
- Biological principles of PRF and its role in tissue regeneration
- Differences between PRF and other platelet concentrates
- PRF as a natural, safe regenerative tool
Preparation, Processing & Placement
- Venipuncture, blood collection and centrifugation techniques
- Variations in PRF protocols and their implications
- Handling and storage of PRF clots
- Step-by-step PRF placement in different dental procedures
Evidence-Based Clinical Applications
- Implant dentistry: socket preservation, sinus lifting and guided bone regeneration
- Periodontics: intrabony defects and gingival recession
- Oral surgery: extraction socket management and soft tissue grafting
- Efficacy and limitations of PRF in different procedures
By the End of This Workshop, You Will Be Able To:
- Explain the biological basis of platelet-rich fibrin and its role in tissue regeneration and wound healing
- Perform venipuncture and blood collection for PRF preparation
- Prepare and process PRF using the main protocol variations
- Apply PRF in implant dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery
- Use the evidence on PRF to make informed decisions in patient care
You Won't Just Watch a Blood Draw. You'll Perform One, With a Periodontist Beside You.
Half of the day is hands-on. You'll practice venipuncture and blood collection on arm models and with volunteers*, then centrifuge, process and handle PRF while two board-certified periodontists coach your technique in real time. To keep that coaching personal, seating is intentionally limited.
Why it matters: a confident, clean blood draw is what makes PRF routine in a busy practice. That confidence comes from doing it with your hands, under supervision, not from reading about it.
*Venipuncture practice with volunteers is supervised by the faculty.

What you'll practice:
- Venipuncture technique on arm models
- Supervised blood collection with volunteers
- Centrifugation and protocol settings
- Processing, handling and storage of PRF clots
- Step-by-step PRF placement for common procedures
- Reviewing clinical cases with the faculty
The Course Ends Friday. Your Access to the Faculty Doesn't.
Every participant gets 1 year of direct WhatsApp access to Dr. Kiarash and Dr. Behmanesh. Ask about a protocol, a difficult draw or a case you're planning, with the same periodontists who taught you.
Who This Workshop Is For
Designed for general dentists and implant dentists, including AAID members and fellows, who perform extractions, grafting, implant or periodontal surgery.
New to PRF
- You've never drawn blood, or haven't since school
- You want a clear, step-by-step protocol from day one
- You want to know where PRF helps and where it doesn't
Already Grafting, Want More From It
- You place grafts and implants and want a natural adjunct
- You want to bring blood draws in-house
- You want evidence-based protocols for each procedure

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this workshop designed for?
General dentists and implant dentists, including AAID members, who extract teeth, graft, place implants or perform periodontal surgery and want to add platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) to their practice.
Do I need experience drawing blood?
No. You'll start with the fundamentals of venipuncture and blood collection on arm models, then practice with volunteers under the direct supervision of the faculty.
What does the workshop cover?
The biology of PRF and how it differs from other platelet concentrates, venipuncture and blood collection, centrifugation and the main PRF protocol variations, handling and storage of PRF clots, step-by-step placement, and the evidence for PRF in implant dentistry, periodontics and oral surgery, including its limitations.
Can dentists perform venipuncture in Quebec?
Rules on venipuncture and the use of PRF by dentists and dental staff vary by province. Please confirm with your professional order what your licence, and your team members' licences, allow before you start in your practice.
Are clinical results guaranteed?
