The Management of Implant Complications
The Management of Implant Complications...
Full-Day Multidisciplinary Course
June 12, 2020
at McGill University
Speakers: Dr. Omid Kiarash & Dr. Sara Behmanesh

Background:
Over the past decade the number of dental implants placed worldwide has increased dramatically. So has the number of clinicians performing these surgeries as well as the number of clinicians restoring dental implants. There has been an explosion in the number of implant manufacturers as well as materials and laboratory processes utilized in the fabrication of implant supported restorations.

As one can imagine, this has lead to an increased number of implant complications. Some of these complications may be operator related, some may be biologically based. Other may be restorative in origin. Material selection and prosthetic design of the final restoration is an integral component for success.

It is essential for an implantologist to be aware of the different stages that a potential complication may arise from. Long term success is dependent on the ability to mitigate all of these facets.

Why Should Every Implantologist Attend This Course?
The number of implant complications has increased significantly over the last few years. In addition, complications associated with implant surgery can have a devastating effect on the final outcome of treatment.
This lecture course will focus on how to identify and avoid potential complications before they arise and how to manage many of the common complications that can occur with implant therapy.
Emphasis will be given to medico-legal implications, patient risk assessment, classifications of complications, and proper treatment planning principles.
At the end of this course, participants will have a better understanding of the prevention and management of complications related to implant therapy.

Course Objectives:
